Group Marketing Manager at Melomed Hospital, Shameema Adams, says they gave the go-ahead for the couple to say their I Do's as planned.

A Cape Town man who married the love of his life on his hospital bed surrounded by family has been released from the establishment. The ceremony was held at the Gatesville Melomed Hospital in Athlone at the weekend.

The groom Muneer Hercules was attacked in an alleged robbery at his home on Saturday night. He was due to marry his bride Maryam Kallie the following day.

Group Marketing Manager at Melomed Hospital, Shameema Adams, says they gave the go-ahead for the couple to say their ‘I Do’s’ as planned.

“They emptied out one of the wards in the hospital to have the family have their celebration or the wedding ceremony take place, also known as the Nikka. We made sure that they had some eats, made it a little bit special for them to have their vows exchanged on the day. It was the first wedding ceremony held at Melomed Gatesville. We wish them all the best for their wedding and for their marriage.”
