This is the 12th edition of the annual festival which attracts thousands of international music lovers.

Excitement is building as the Kingdom of eSwatini hosts the 2018 MTN Bushfire Festival.

The Oshoek/ Ngwenya border is expected to be most affected as it is the most used entry into eSwatini from South Africa.

This is the 12th edition of the annual festival which attracts thousands of international music lovers.

The festival runs the whole weekend and traffic out eSwatini to South Africa is again expected to be congested on Monday morning as party goers make their way home and international visitors to OR Tambo International Airport.

More than simply a music festival, MTN Bushfire provides carefully curated environments that captivate and inspire a safe family friendly atmosphere where people from all walks of life collectively ignite their flame.

It has recently been acknowledged and awarded as Africa’s most responsible event.

It has over the years developed into an aspirational convergence ground for upcoming and established regional traders of diverse cultural backgrounds.

The diverse line-up of performers reflects the festival’s identity as a uniquely African, and yet globally infused festival experience and coincides with celebrations of Africa month.

This makes for a great cosmopolitan audience of people from around the globe brought together by their love of good music and eSwatini culture.

The line-up includes South African artists:

Khuli Chana, Samthing  Soweto,  Kwesta, Sho  Madjozi,  Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, eSwatini’s hottest talent Sands, and international acts: Nigerian afro-pop singer Yemi Alade, Salif Keita, French reggae band Dub Inc, Austrian avant-garde jazz group 5k-HD and many others.

SABC News will be bringing you updates of the festival.
