Log leaders the Bulls have consolidated their position at the top of the Currie Cup log and all but secured a home semi-final with a win over the Lions at Loftus Versveld in Pretoria.

Both teams dealt purely in penalties in the first half.

The visitors dominated leading for the better part but the Bulls rallied with some late pressure, going into half-time leading 12-9.

The home-side ran an early second-half try and defended well to eventually seal a 22-15 victory.

Captain Duane Vermeulen was impressed with his team’s fight back.
