Orlando Pirates head coach – Milutin Sredojevic – has saluted his players and technical team for winning Saturday night’s Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs.

Bucs booked themselves a place in the finals of the Telkom Cup after beating Chiefs by two goals in Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Sredojevic says his players stuck with their plan and executed it well. Pirates’ midfielder – Xola Mlambo – was voted the Man of the Match, but Micho singled out Justin Shonga’s performance on the day.

In the meantime, Kaizer Chiefs head coach – Giovanni Solinas – has expressed his disappointment after suffering a second defeat to Orlando Pirates.

Goals from Thembinkosi Lorch and Justin Shonga were enough to take Pirates into the Telkom Cup final to be played on the 8th of December in the Nelson Mandela Stadium, in Port Elizabeth.

Leonard Castro scored the only goal for Chiefs.

In a space of four weeks, Bucs has twice claimed the Soweto derby bragging rights by the same score line.

In October, Pirates beat Chiefs in an Absa Premiership encounter.
