The "Once Upon a One More Time" begins previews and then a limited run in Chicago from the 29th of October before setting its sights on New York.

Britney Spears is heading to Broadway with a fairytale jukebox musical featuring her hits.

The “Once Upon a One More Time” begins previews and then a limited run in Chicago from October 29 before setting its sights on New York.

It will fill the slot in Chicago that had been slated to host “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” about Michael Jackson, a musical that producers say was cancelled over “scheduling difficulties” linked to a labour dispute with actors.

The cancellation came just before an HBO documentary that detailed paedophilia allegations against Jackson.

Producers say they’re hoping to take Spears’ musical straight to Broadway in 2020.
