Boks looking to settle series against England on Saturday

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The South African national rugby team has the opportunity this weekend to settle the three match test series against England when the two sides face off in the second test in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

The Boks won the first test, and have their tails up going into this potential series decider. However they will need to work on their defence against a smart English side.

The Boks have plenty to focus on this weekend and while the 42-39 victory in the first test was a massive boost to the Rassie Erasmus and Siya Kolisi era.

There is still plenty more to do against England, who are potentially looking at a fifth successive test defeat.

“We hundred percent know its not going to be the same as last week. I thought they played really well they started very well last week and we know there are different players coming in they want to prove themselves so it’s definitely going to be a high intensity game and it’s just going to be about who wants it the most,” said Kolisi.

More will be expected from the tight five in the set pieces, particularly at scrum time.

There are also encouraging signs that the Bok gameplan is not so rigid that it does not allow for the exciting backline players to do what they do best.

“We’re put in a set-up where you can still do your bit of magic and still try to stick to the plan but there is room where you can do your magic if there is an opportunity yes,” says  Springbok center, Lukhanyo Am.

It’ll also be a day of milestones, loosehead prop, Tendai Mtawarira will run out for his 100th test cap,

The team says they will celebrate that fact after they get the series win, which they hope will be on Saturday.
