The Blitzboks have won the Los Angeles Sevens. They beat Fiji 29-24 in a final that went to extra time.
It was an extraordinary performance from the team, who were 19-0 down just five minutes into the game.
But they clawed their way back into the match, and a Branco du Preez conversion brought the scores level in the final minute of regulation time.
Sakoyisa Makata scored the try in extra time that won them the match and the title.

South Africa is now second on the HSBC World Sevens series table, four points behind New Zealand, who they beat 17-0 in the semi-finals.
Coach Neil Powell says,” I think a lot of ups and downs. I think that first half so many basic errors from our side. Not kicking a penalty out, just giving Fiji possession and unstructured defence, and I think we paid for it in that first half. But unbelievable after half time the games just refocused and kept on believing in the system. And you could see that belief in the 2nd half. So a lot of credit must go to the boys, they’ve really done well to chip away at that deficit in the 2nd half and kept on believing until the end.”
