BLF slams court ruling on Bankorp-CIEX report

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Back First Land First (BLF) has expressed shock over last week’s court judgment setting aside the Bankorp-CIEX report which found that the public was prejudiced by government and the Reserve Bank’s failure to recover the R3.2 billion from Bankorp Limited-Absa.

The High Court in Pretoria set aside the remedial action by Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.

The court ordered Mkhwebane to pay 85% of the Reserve Bank costs in her official capacity and 15% in her personal capacity.

BLF President Andile Mngxithama says this was hypocritical of the country’s courts.

Meanwhile, BLF says the African National Congress’ (ANC) recall of former President Jacob Zuma and his subsequent resignation marked the end of radical economic transformation in the country.

Mngxithama says under Zuma, black people were on course to own land. He says Zuma was a champion of the oppressed and the poor.
