Bellville Library in Cape Town set to reopen

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Bellville Library in Cape Town is set to reopen on Tuesday following its forced closure at the beginning of 2021.

Mayoral Committee Member for Community Sevices, Zahid Badroodien, says the facility’s circulation system, which regulates airflow, packed up in January and needed to be repaired.

The library has 11 000 patrons.

Badroodien says the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions delayed the repair process while staff had to be relocated to other libraries.

He says a limited number of people will be allowed inside the facility due to COVID-19 regulations when it reopens.
