British singer Cliff Richard won substantial damages on Wednesday after London’s High Court ruled the BBC had breached his privacy by televising a police raid on his house which he said had left him feeling violated.

The BBC said the “dramatic” ruling would have a huge impact on the media’s ability to report police inquiries and scrutinize their conduct.

American boxer Floyd Mayweather was named the world’s highest-paid entertainer on Monday on a list that saw actor George Clooney take the No. 2 spot with the highest annual pay of his career.  Reality star Kylie Jenner, 20, came in third on the annual Forbes Celebrity 100 list, largely thanks to her booming cosmetics line that Forbes said put her on track to become the youngest self-made billionaire in the United States.

 Fans of “The Crown”, one of the most expensive television series ever produced, have been given a sneak peak of actress Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret in the third season of the drama that chronicles Britain’s royal family. On the official Twitter page of the hit show, producers of the Netflix drama on Wednesday released a photo of Bonham Carter as Queen Elizabeth’s younger sister staring haughtily at a cigarette holder.

 A Chinese blockbuster hopeful backed by Alibaba  Pictures Group and with a reported budget of over $100 million, was abruptly pulled from cinemas after a lackluster opening weekend at the box office. The move highlights the challenges facing China as it seeks to promote home-grown productions to rival imported Hollywood films.
