Bavuma will remain in the Proteas camp and begin his rehabilitation program with the team's medical staff with the goal of returning to play within seven to 10 days.

South African batsman, Temba Bavuma, will miss out on the first cricket test match against England after sustaining a grade one hip flexor muscle strain which was revealed by scans on Thursday.

He will remain in the Proteas camp and begin his rehabilitation program with the team’s medical staff with the goal of returning to play within seven to 10 days. The first Test match is scheduled to take place at SuperSport Park in Centurion from the 26th of December.

A decision on a possible replacement will be made at the conclusion of the South Africa A and Cricket South Africa Franchise Four-Day matches that are taking place this weekend.
