A battle royale is expected when Chippa United take on Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at the Free State Stadium for the Nedbank Cup this weekend. Winning the Nedbank Cup will be huge for the Gqeberha based Chilli Boys.

They have not added anything to their trophy cabinet since being promoted to the PSL in 2013. The two clubs are also neighbours on the PSL log slotting in at 14th and 15th. The side won its last two games beating Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC in the premier league.

Chippa United reached the Nedbank Cup final by defeating Pretoria Callies. They go into the game on Saturday as the favourites.

Club Chairman Siviwe Mpengesi says the expectation is high.

“We have waited for many years, I have watched so many cups so the point I thought a cup was not for us a Chippa United but now the reality has come. Saturday is a big day. With all the support that I see with blessings from our premier, mayors, people of the Eastern Cape at large, I don’t see Chippa United not winning on Saturday.”
