Bafana Bafana redeemed themselves in front of their home crowd with an unconvincing 1-0 win over Sudan at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Sunday afternoon.

South Africa has now collected three points after their two opening matches in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Bafana lost their opening qualifying match against Ghana on Thursday.

Coach Molefi Ntseki made six changes to the team that played against the Black Stars midweek.

Ntseki made two changes in defence, three in midfield, and Lebo Mothiba started upfront as a lone striker coming in for Bradley Grobler.

The homeside was wasteful in front of goal missing one chance after another.

French-based midfielder Lebo Phiri finally broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time with a beautiful strike.
