Bafana Bafana are on top of Group A after an emphatic 4-nil win over Lesotho in this year’s COSAFA Cup in Gqeberha.

Debutant Victor Letsoalo scored a hat-trick for South Africa to book them a place in the semi-finals.

Four changes were made to the team that beat Eswatini five days ago with Victor Letsoalo, Sifiso Ngobeni, Yusuf Maart, and Njabulo Ngcobo all included in the starting line-up.

Letsoalo who was one of the players making his Bafana Bafana debut opened the scoring in the fourth minute.

South Africa who looked better than in their last two matches made it 2-nil through Sphelele Mkhulise in the 19th minute.

Letsoalo scored his second goal of the match to make it 3-nil on the stroke of half-time.

The Bloemfontein forward Letswalo got his hat-trick in the 57th minute.

Bafana Bafana’s last group match against Zambia on Wednesday will just be a mere formality. Zambia registered their first win of the tournament with a 2-1 win over Botswana.

In the earlier match invited COSAFA Cup guests Senegal came from behind to beat Zimbabwe 2-1.

The West Africans are now second in Group B with six points after two matches, trailing group leaders Namibia by just a single point.

The Warriors had a dream start when they were awarded a penalty in the second minute of the match.

Captain Qadr Amini made no mistake from the spot sending the keeper the wrong way.

The West Africans scored the equaliser through Abdou Ndoye on the stroke of half-time after a goalkeeping blunder.

Senegal registered their second win of the tournament with Mohammed Ba scoring the late winner. In another Group B match played at the same time at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium, Namibia drew 1-all with Malawi.
