Bongekile and Nondumiso Simelane were fined R1000 at the beginning of the month for failing to appear in court.

The musician Bongekile Simelane – known by her stage name as Babes Wodumo – her sister and another musician are due to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court again on Wednesday on an assault charge.

Simelane, her sister Nondumiso, and Thobeka Tipcee Ndaba allegedly assaulted a woman in an Umbilo guest house in March.

This was a day after Babes Wodumo laid an assault charge against her manager and fellow-musician – Mandla Mapinthsa Maphumulo.

Bongekile and Nondumiso Simelane were fined R1000 at the beginning of the month for failing to appear in court.
