Four of the seven State-Owned Enterprises (SOE’s) that report to the Department of Public Enterprises have been receiving either qualified or disclaimed audit reports for the past five years.
Three of them – South African Express, South African Airways (SAA) and Alexkor – have been unable to present their audit reports due to liquidity challenges.
This startling report was presented by the office of the Auditor General in parliament on Tuesday.
