African Transformation Movement (ATM) Leader Vuyo Zungula has described legendary actor Patrick Shai as an eloquent advocate of Gender-Based Violence.
Shai passed on this morning. This was confirmed by his family. He was known for playing “Nkosheng” in the popular early drama “Bophelo ke Semphekgo” along with Nakedi Ribane, Lydia Mogokoloshi and Rinkie Tleane.
ATM leader Vuyo Zungula has extended the party’s condolences to the Shai family.
“As the ATM, we’re deeply saddened by the passing of Mr Patrick Shai. We know he was a very eloquent advocate of Gender-Based Violence. We hope that the family receives our condolences and we hope that the public will give the family time to mourn their loss. Rest in Peace Mr Patrick Shai.”
Earlier, his family asked for space to process the painful loss and says they will release more details in due course. Shai is also known for his roles on the television series Soul City and TV soap Generations.
He was involved in the fight against Gender-Based Violence.
