Reading Time: < 1 minute

A large group of athletes in the 100 kilometre Mandela Marathon has gone passed the 25 kilometre spot on a gravel road.

The race started at Clackebury where he studied and will go through Mqhekezweni, Qunu and end in Mvezo where the world’s icon was born.

One of the athletes, Lungile Molwana, from the Transkei region says they are enjoying themselves.

“This race is fit for everyone because even each and every kilometres there is no need to run less than 7km or more than 10 km no one can say no because each and every km is about 6 minutes per kilometre and there is no excuse to say I cannot run because those people are fast or they are too much slow,” says Molwana.
