At least three people were killed and 22 others seriously injured in separate car crashes in Limpopo on Saturday night.

 

Accident in Phalaborwa

A driver of a van lost control of the vehicle and overturned outside Phalaborwa, killing two male passengers. The driver and two passengers were seriously injured, while 19 others sustained minor injuries. The group was coming from a soccer match.

N1 near Mamapukuli Weighbridge in the Vhembe district

In another crash, a driver died when he collided with a van on the N1 near Mamapukuli Weighbridge in the Vhembe district.

Transport Spokesperson, Mike Maringa says there were accidents in Vhembe and Mopani districts.

“Three people were killed in a separate accident last night in Vhembe and Mopani district. A Toyota van that was transporting 23 people from a soccer match overturned when the driver lost control killing two people between the ages and 16 and 17 three people sustained critical injuries and nineteen others escaped with minor injuries. The other accident happened outside Louis Trichardt. It was side-swap collusion a Toyota sedan and a fort van,” says Maringa.
