ANA takes over news agency SAPA
After 77 years of sending out news to media houses, The South African Press Association – better known as SAPA – will send out its last story at midnight on March 31, 2015. The Agency was established in 1938 by major South African newspapers to facilitate the sharing of news. Now, the African News Agency, ANA, will take over. CEO of the newly established news agency, Chris Borain, says they will start operating on March 1. Borain says ANA has put together their own team of news professionals and they will be using the latest technology in news gathering.

Tzaneen makes US list of top destinations
Elite Daily, a US based online monthly publication for young people has rated Tzaneen as the 27th “unpredictable and least known places to travel to in the world”. Tzaneen is a large garden town situated in the Limpopo province. The list describes Tzaneen as a “tropical town that is beautiful and full of natural attractions”. The only other destination in Africa amongst the top 50 places is Zanzibar.

The Jozi Film Festival kicks off

Moving to Gauteng, Joburgers can look forward to the fourth annual Jozi Film Festival.

Co-founder of the festival, Shareen Anderson, says the films that will be screened are original, different and speak to the heart.

The Festival will take place from this Thursday until Sunday. Screenings will take place at different locations in Johannesburg.

Women take the front seat the the Old Car show in George, southern Western Cape.

The event has been running since 1997 and is one of the most prestigious events on the motoring calender.

It attracts all types of vehicles from around the country where the vintage and classic cars take centre stage.

And it proved it’s not a domain reserved for men.
