Miriam Makeba’s life celebrated through a concert

Ekurhuleni Jazz Comes Alive will commemorate musical icon and anti-apartheid activist Miriam Makeba’s life through a concert hosted at the Birch Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg on Friday. The concert will feature performances by musical icons including Dorothy Masuku and Abigail Khubeka. It has been six years since Makeba passed away.

Historical buildings showcased at the Anglo-Boer War Museum

Bloemfontein’s historical buildings have been showcased at the Anglo Boer-War Museum. The exhibition is aimed at highlighting the importance of history and preserving historical buildings. Old monuments including the Tweetoring Church, the Station building and the Basotho Monument have been showcased.

Eat out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards to take place on Saturday

Restaurants which have showed excellence in serving their customers will be recognised at the annual Eat out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards on Saturday. The annual event will take place at the Thunder City at the Cape Town International Airport. A panel of expert judges in the restaurant will name the top 10 restaurants in the country. Deputy editor of the Eat out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Jeanne Calitz says only the best restaurants will be awarded.
