22 designers to feature at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week
Designers will showcase their pieces at the annual Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, starting off in Johannesburg on Friday. This year the event will feature designs from 22 artists.
Cassper Nyovest shines at the Metro FM Awards
Hip Hop artist Cassper Nyovest was the biggest winner at the 14th annual Metro FM Awards. Nyovest walked away with five Metro FM awards including the Song of the Year Award for his hit track “Doc Shebeleza”. Durban was abuzz on Saturday with celebrities wearing different designs at the Metro FM Awards Black Carpet.
World marks Dr Seuss Day
“Why fit it when you are born to stand out?” This is a quote from one of the writings of the respected author Dr Theodor Seuss. Tuesday marked international Dr Seuss Day. It is a commemoration of the author who published 46 children’s books. His writings are widely quoted internationally.
Brink remembered as a prolific writer
Renowned South African author Andre Brink was remembered at a memorial service in Cape Town. Brink died at the age of 79 on a flight back to Cape Town from Europe. The University of Cape Town’s English Professor was described as a prolific writer. Brink has written and published more than 20 novels.
