Art exhibition aimed at banishing HIV stigma opens in Durban

The stigma of HIV remains one of the main challenges for people living with HIV and Aids around the world. A global art exhibition which coincides with the international Aids conference will be held in Durban later this month. It aims to use the power of art to banish the HIV stigma.

One of the participants in the art project is Xolisile Zwane from Ntuzuma, who’s been living with HIV for fourteen years. She became HIV positive at the age of 16. Infected by an older man who paid for her education.
