Golden Arrows remain third on the DSTV Premiership table after playing to a one-all draw with Bloemfontein Celtic in Durban. Celtic leapfrogged Stellenbosch FC into 10th place on the log standings.

Golden Arrows had an opportunity to move to second on the log standings and needed maximum points to achieve that. A win would move Bloemfontein Celtic three places from 11th to eighth on the standings.

The visitors launched an attack and weren’t able to capitalise with Arrows’ defence equal to the task. Arrows attacked immediately after dealing with the danger with keeper, Jackson Mabokgwane, comfortably stopping Pule Mmodi’s tame effort.

Celtic opened the scoring with Mzwanele Mahashe connecting with Menzi Masuku’s corner kick and beating keeper, Sifiso Mlungwana, on the near post. The home side should have equalised moments before the break after playing brilliant football with their passes finding each other.

However, Knox Mutizwa, was denied by the crossbar with Mabokgwane beaten. Celtic were not happy with the one-goal lead and wanted to score a second one with Mlungwana denying Masuku on this occasion.

Arrows continued asking questions and their efforts were rewarded. Mutizwa headed in the ball in the 72nd minute after it rebounded off the crossbar. Victor Letsoalo has a chance to win Celtic three points in injury time but was denied by Mlungwana.
