Arrows fail to narrow gap opened by Sundowns in DSTV Premiership

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Golden Arrows failed to minimise the gap opened by log leaders and defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the DSTV Premiership.

Arrows were held to a 1-all draw by the struggling Cape Town City at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Both sides scored early in the first half.

City, who were winless in six matches in all competitions, broke the deadlock through Nigerian Abdul Ajagun in the fourth minute of the match. But Velemseni Ndwandwe found the equaliser for the homeside a few minutes later. City was denied by the crossbar after a long range shot by Fagrie Lakay seven minutes from time.

The game ended in a 1-all draw, which means that City are still winless after seven matches and remain eighth on the log.
