Eleven Anti-Gang Unit officers are expected to return to the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on the Cape Flats in relation to charges of murder, kidnapping and torture.
The case relates to the death of 41-year-old Manenberg resident Wayde Price, who died after an alleged police interrogation in December last year.
Price was one of several suspects questioned about a suspected gang-related fatal shooting in Athlone.
Ten of the accused were granted bail of R2000 each in January, following an appeal to the High Court.
This was after bail was initially denied.
The other officer was granted bail on medical grounds.
