Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has come out to defend his wife, Grace Mugabe.

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe is set to appoint a woman deputy after a special Zanu-PF party congress next month.

Mugabe fiercely defended his wife after she received a hostile reception at a youth rally in Bulawayo on Saturday. The President also hinted at another cabinet reshuffle.

First lady Grace Mugabe says there would be nothing wrong with her appointment.

Mugabe announced that he intended to fire Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who was once seen as his potential successor.

“What I did not expect which I had a bit of information about was some people had arranged to send person here to boo the first lady.”
