The Free State ANCYL has called for the immediate removal of Education MEC Tate Makgoe as the head of the party’s provincial election team.

The Youth League claims Makgoe has reached the end of the road as a politician and blamed the seasoned politician for losing the crucial Metsimaholo Municipality in Sasolburg.

The ANCYL says the ANC in the province has no active and coherent election strategy for the 2019 elections.

ANCYL Provincial Secretary Reagan Booysen says Makgoe should focus on his role in education.

“We want him to focus on his Department of Education, to ensure that free education is realized in our lifetime. We want the person that will be full time in working for ANC for elections, a person that will be at the office on full-time basis, person that only focuses on elections.”
