Deputy Editor of the Financial Mail Sikonathi Mantshantsha says the Women’s League specifically wanted Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma

The African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL) was expected to host a press conference on Tuesday morning to talk about their reaction to the announcement of the ANC Top 6. The media briefing has been postponed due to an urgent steering committee meeting.

Deputy Editor of the Financial Mail Sikonathi Mantshantsha says the Women’s League didn’t want a woman President, it wanted Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma specifically and it shut the door on any other women who disagreed with their agenda.

“They went for the worst possible candidates, so they didn’t want to win this. There are many that are professional and good people who could have made better candidates.”
