ANC’s election rally in Eastern Cape cut short by rain

Reading Time: 2 minutes

ANC’s election rally in the Eastern Cape had to be cut short due to rain. The campaign is led by party President Cyril Ramaposa in Mdantsane.

Ramaposa’s address to the crowd had to be cut shot as rain persisted, forcing people to leave the sports field.

“You love the ANC and the rain is falling hard now. Yho, this is bad. No, no, no this is bad. I will be back soon. Please accept our apologies. Amandla. Amandla. You guys are free to go.”

Ramaphosa says he is confident that his party will retain the Buffalo City Metro in the Eastern Cape after the November local government elections. Ramaphosa was briefing the media following his campaign in Mdantsane.

His address at the local sports field was cut short due to rain.

Ramaphosa says the local leadership has worked hard to improve living conditions of the metro citizens.

“The situation here in Buffalo City is fairly positive one for the ANC. I have no doubt that the Buffalo City Municipality will remain in the hands of the ANC with an even increased majority. So, it’s been pleasing to be here in the Buffalo City.”
