Solly Msimanga is to remain Tshwane Executive Mayor. This after the African National Congress (ANC) withdrew its motion of no confidence in him.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) earlier walked out of Council after Speaker, Katlego Mathebe, disallowed its motion for not complying with council rules.

Meanwhile, Msimanga says the Democratic Alliance (DA) led council has managed to overcome a number of challenges under the current political situation.

The ANC and the EFF accused the mayor of allowing corruption in the council, and for failing to render services to the more than two million Tshwane residents.

Msimanga remains adamant that the DA has brought change in Tshwane since it won the August 2016 Local Government Elections.
