ANC will remain in power in many areas: Mabe

Reading Time: 2 minutes

African National Congress (ANC) National Spokesperson Pule Mabe says the party is confident that it will remain the governing party in many areas after the 8 May elections. Mabe led an election campaign in Seshego Zone 2 outside Polokwane in Limpopo.

The campaign consisted of door-to-door visits, a fundraising car washing function and a braai at a local car washing business.

Mabe says interacting with the people of the area has affirmed that the ANC has a strong support base.

“No, no, we are coming here for the first time. This goes to show you that here in Seshego, the ANC lives in the adrenaline of our people. We are interacting with our people for the first time. I mean you saw they had to jump the streets at the risk of traffic and everything just to grab an ANC duke and an ANC T-shirt. So, it’s a good reception.”

Meanwhile, some residents of Seshego have called on Mabe to ensure that they have access to employment opportunities.

“Although I can’t really state in front of people, which party I will be voting for. I am glad they visited my home,” says one of the resident.

Another resident says; “We will vote for the ANC but you must also give us jobs.”
