The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) says action will be taken against those members who have been involved in activities that have destabilised the province.

It says a report will be compiled to detail what has transpired in the past few days.
There are currently protests on several major highways in the province following the incarceration of former President Jacob Zuma.
On Friday, the N3, N2, M7 and several other key roads were disrupted by burning tyres and rubble.
ANC KZN Spokesperson Nhlakanipho Ntombela says there are many members of the party who have been involved in these activities.
“The report we get will determine who are the individuals who might have done something wrong and what will be the way forward from there. We can’t pre-empt that report until we get that report with the detailed issues. Only then we’ll be able to determine as a province how do we navigate that situation as we move forward,” says Ntombela.
The Mooi River Toll Plaza on the N3 in the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Midlands remains closed. It is now believed that more than twenty trucks were burnt by protesters on Friday night.

KZN Premier calls for calm amid protest actions, trucks set alight
Premier Sihle Zikalala has appealed for calm as protest action blocking traffic on several major highways in KwaZulu-Natal continues. Zikalala says it is believed that the protests are in connection with the incarceration of former President Jacob Zuma.
The N3 highway in Durban from the Midmar Dam offramp to Pietermaritzburg has remained closed in both directions.
Former President Jacob Zuma has lost his application for a stay of his arrest. The High Court in Pietermaritzburg handed down judgment on Friday.
Zikalala has called for peaceful engagement. He says several vehicles were reportedly stoned public infrastructure damaged resulting in many commuters not being able to reach their places of work.
“It’s is reported and believed that the protests are on the incarceration of former President and his excellency comrade Jacob Zuma. We understand the extreme anger of the people who are protesting, however, we call on those who are protesting to do so through peaceful means and avoid violence and destruction at all costs,” says Zikalala.
