The African National Congress (ANC) will hold its Siyangqoba rally at Thokoza Park in Soweto later on Friday.
The main rally will be preceded by other rallies to be addressed by some National Executive Committee members in various districts and metros. The Soweto rally will start at 15:00 in the afternoon.
Party president Cyril Ramaphosa will address the rally at around 19:00 in the evening.

After losing some of the key metros in the 2016 local elections, party deputy president David Mabuza is still not convinced of an outright majority in these metros except for Ekurhuleni.
Ramaphosa is expected to give an account of the ANC prospects in the election when he wraps their campaign in Soweto.
