The African National Congress (ANC) in Mpumalanga has suspended its deputy convener of the Ehlanzeni region, Michael Ngwenya, for mobilising party branches in the province and going to Nkandla in northern KwaZulu-Natal to support former President Jacob Zuma.
Ngwenya, who is the former Chairperson of the Ehlanzeni region, is the second person to be suspended from the party in less than a week.

Earlier this week Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans’ Association Spokesperson Carl Niehaus was suspended from the ANC for allegedly bringing the party into disrepute.
He has vowed to appeal against the suspension.
