African National Congress (ANC) supporters have begun streaming through the gates of Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Roads around and leading to the stadium are closed as scores of shuttles and buses ferry members and guests to the venue under the watchful eye of the police.
The strong winds buffeting the stadium have done nothing to dampen the mood of those who have arrived for the ANC’s Manifesto launch.
The rapidly increasing crowd is in high spirits singing and dancing in the stands as the cultural programme is due to start shortly and keep supporters occupied until 9am when the official programme is to be opened by party National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe.
