The SACP will be contesting their elections for the first time ever against their alliance partner the ANC.

The much anticipated ANC-SACP bilateral meeting will start at the ANC headquarters in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon. This is the first meeting after the Alliance Political Council a fortnight ago.

The council instructed partners to have continuous engagements in the form of bilateral meetings to iron out their differences.

The ANC-SACP bilateral meeting will discuss unity of the alliance and strained relations, following the Communist Party’s call for President Jacob Zuma to step down and the subsequent removal of SACP General Secretary Blade Nzimande as Minister of Higher Education.
