ANC rewards four parties with council positions in City of Joburg

Geoff Makhubo introduced his team at a council meeting at the weekend after the ousting of the DA.

The new African National Congress (ANC) council has rewarded four parties with council positions in the City of Johannesburg for voting with the party.

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has been rewarded with the Transport and Housing MMC positions. The Patriotic Alliance (PA), African Independent Congress (AIC) and Congress of the People (COPE) have each been given MMC positions.

Newly-elected mayor, Geoff Makhubo, announced his members of the mayoral committee on Saturday. The ANC holds the remaining five MMC positions.
