The prediction for seat allocation in the Gauteng Province, by the CSIR, has the ANC taking 37 of the 73 seats available in the provincial legislature. The CSIR estimates that the ANC, who is currently the ruling party in the province, will win 50.6% of the votes cast.

Only 45% of the voting districts in the province have declared their results. Earlier predictions showed the ruling party to get less than 50% of the vote, but still with the controlling seat.

While the ANC is running close to the outright majority in Gauteng, the main opposition party (DA), has received only 25% of the vote so far. The CSIR does predict that this will go as high as 27%, or 20 seats, when all the voting districts have declared.

The EFF is the third-most popular party in Gauteng, with a predicted 11 seats and the FF Plus is expected to take three seats in the province.

A large number of voting districts still need to declare, which can affect the seat allocation in the province.
