Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni briefs the media on the ANC's economic growth plan.

The ANC’s national executive committee has announced a proposed package of interventions to help grow the struggling economy and create jobs.

The party briefed journalists at Luthuli House in Johannesburg, following a special meeting of the party’s leadership body over the weekend.

Analysts say the plans will go a long way towards providing policy certainty for a clearer roadmap towards economic recovery.

For now the ANC is only saying which key areas will be the focus.

It is looking into a package of policy interventions that will be outlined more blatantly in the budget later this month.
