The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has reacted with outrage to the killing of the party’s election co-ordinator in Mfume village in the south of Durban.

Police say 46-year-old Nqobizwe Mkhize was shot at home in ward 105 on Sunday morning.

They say the gunmen also shot and killed two community members as they fled the scene.

Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says, “In the early hours of this morning at half past two the victim, Nqobizwe Mkhize (46) was asleep in his house with his wife when he was attacked by three unknown suspects armed with firearms, the suspects then kicked the door open and opened fire at the victim who then died at the scene.
