The counting of votes for the African National Congress’ (ANC) additional members to the National Executive Committee is underway at Nasrec, south of Johannesburg, and the results are expected on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the battle over the more than 60 votes that were allegedly not counted has been resolved. This after president Cyril Ramaphosa reportedly met with former KwaZulu-Natal Premier Senzo Mchunu.
Earlier, Mchunu’s supporters instructed their lawyers to file papers with regard to the uncounted votes.
However, ANC Spokesperson Zizi Kodwa maintains the conference will conclude its business.
“We are quite excited that the conference went well. The doomsayers thought that this conference would collapse the first day. We’re now concluding. This afternoon the president of the ANC will give a closing address,” says Kodwa.
