The Electoral Commission has urged all of South Africa's eligible voters to visit their voting stations over the weekend of March 10 and 11.

The ANC’s Head of Elections, Fikile Mbalula, says it is the responsibility of all ANC members to make sure South Africans are registered to vote.

The Electoral Commission has urged all of South Africa’s eligible voters to visit their voting stations over the weekend of March 10 and 11 to check their details in preparation for the 2019 elections.

Briefing the media in Boksburg on Gauteng’s East Rand on the ANC’s election campaign preparations, Mbalula stressed the importance of this campaign to ensure a credible voters’ roll.

“It is the duty of every ANC member to help all eligible voters get an identity document, check their addresses and register to vote. We must explain to our people that even if one is already registered they must check their addresses to ensure a credible voters’ roll. So, if a person has moved from one flat to another it is critical that they do so. During the open registration weekend, the ANC expects all of our members and leaders be the epitome of humble servant leadership,” he says.
