ANC march against the DA-led Tshwane metro underway

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Hundreds of African National Congress (ANC) members have started assembling at the old Putco depot at Marabastad in Pretoria, ahead of the Party’s march against instability in the City of Tshwane.

Buses ferrying ANC supporters continue to arrive.

Despite the scorching sun, jubilant supporters from various parts of the country are singing struggle songs as they gear up for the march to begin.

The stage has been set and proceedings are expected to get underway at any moment.

The march aims to highlight the ongoing instability in the City of Tshwane.

Tshwane Metro Police Department and the South African Police Service are on high alert and they continue to monitor the marchers.

Some have told SABC News that they are here to show their discontent with how the Democratic Alliance (DA) is running the Municipality.

The City is currently without a mayor following the resignation of Dr Murunwa Makwarela.
