The ANC has confirmed that the secretary of one of its branches has handed himself to the police.
This after Thabiso Setona was seen in a video kicking a woman who was part of a march in Johannesburg earlier Monday.
The group was expected to march to the party’s headquarters but were prevented by a group calling themselves Protect Luthuli House.
ANC communications manager, Khusela Diko explains, “Thabiso was identified as the man in the video who was seen assaulting a woman outside Luthuli House. As the ANC we welcome this development and we reiterate our position there is no place for violence in our ranks and those who are guilty or perpetuate any acts of violence must face the full might of the law.”
