The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says it will not be dictated to by the African National Congress (ANC)-led government on how to conduct its election program. The party says it will be doing its election campaign in a way that will see them being visible on the streets – talking to potential voters.

This, as the country, is still on an adjusted level three of the nationwide lockdown, due to COVID-19.

The EFF is holding a two-day Central Command Team (CCT) meeting in Kempton Park, east of Johannesburg.

The EFF says whether the ANC-led government tries to hinder it from continuing with the program for the upcoming Local Government Elections, it’s game on, it will conduct campaigns.

This CCT meeting is looking back at what the party has been doing in preparation for the elections. It’s also looking at the party’s financials and more programs of action to further build the party.

The party’s general secretary, Marshall Dlamini says the EFF will be contesting all wards in South Africa.

“What we are dealing with here is the programme of action towards the LGEs that are coming because we are going to contest the elections. We are dealing with the manifesto framework, which we are launching on the 26th of September. We are covering a lot of issues but on the main, we are going to be dealing with elections preparations because we registered all our candidates across the country and we are contesting all wards in SA.”

The party says with or without the ANC participating in the election – it is certain to come out victorious – as Dlamini explains.

“Victory is certain even with or without the ANC – we are not scared, we will win these elections – we are doing the groundwork, we are confident, whenever the elections are taking place, bring them on – we are ready.”

The EFF will launch its election manifesto on September 26th at a venue still to be announced.
