Reading Time: 2 minutes

President Jacob Zuma says the ANC government will review the three spheres of government to provide greater clarity on the roles and functions of each sphere.
Zuma was speaking at the Absa stadium in Durban during his delivery of the ANC’s – ”January the eighth statement”.
Zuma has also called on all ANC leaders to get in touch with their communities.
“We remind all ANC deployees that where infrastructure and resources exist to deliver services, there can be no excuse for these services not to be delivered. We now know where the gaps exist and it is time to deliver the services that will improve the lives of our people.”
He has also called on South Africans to express their grievances in an acceptable manner. “We call on our people to exercise their rights to protest against unsatisfactory service delivery in a peaceful and orderly manner as provided for in the Constitution,” added Zuma.

We call on our people to exercise their rights to protest against unsatisfactory service delivery in a peaceful and orderly manner as provided for in the Constitution.

He also reiterated that the ruling ANC will continue to support the police, judiciary and others in the war against crime and corruption. He added that people should not become complacent regarding crime and corruption.
”We call on ANC membership to assist the police and communities to combat violence against women and children, a crime that continues to afflict our society. We appeal to ANC members and society in general to remain vigilant and support the fight against corruption. Corruption is the enemy of development. It diverts resources meant for the poor.”

Meanwhile, police in Durban are still monitoring the roads in and around the city.
