Alliance partners and some members within the ANC had called for the dissolution of the PEC accusing them of factionalism.

A thirty-two member task team which will lead the African National Congress (ANC) in the North West Province has officially been announced.

Although there is widespread support for those on the list some fear that it might compromise the party’s objective of unity, because it includes some of the former disbanded Provincial Executive Council (PEC) Members. The PEC was dissolved last month.

Some of the former members of the disbanded PEC who are part of the PTT include Wendy Nelson, Sello Lehari and former premier Supra Mahumapelo.
