ANC, DA – drop in numbers becoming more evident

Reading Time: < 1 minute

With the 2019 general elections vote count more than half way through, the ANC and the DA’s projected drop in these elections is becoming more and more evident.

As it stands, with 53.57% of the voting districts declared, the ANC is sitting at 56.95% and the DA at 22.67% of the vote share thus far.

The CSIR had earlier projected that the ANC would get 57.54% and DA 21.06% at the final count. That would be about 5 percentage point drop of the ANC and the DA’s slight drop from the 22.23% they got in 2014.

The ANC looks set to retain its status as the governing party sitting at 56.95% and the EFF retaining its position as the third biggest party.

If this trend continues the ANC and the DA will have drop in numbers from their 2014 performances, with the EFF being the only one of the top three seeing growth and the FF Plus sneaking into the top five ahead of the IFP, UDM, and the NFP.
