Analysts react to the mini-budget

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Finance minister Pravin Gordhan’s delivered an upbeat medium-term budget policy speech in Parliament on Wednesday. In the last mini-budget speech to be heard before the 2014 elections, the minister vowed to keep the purse strings tight.

The result was that no major changes in spending were announced, but commitments to the National Development Plan (NDP) were reinforced. Absa Investment Analyst, Christopher Gilmour, talks about the budget.
